Reprecussions to My Health Leads Blog
So, after accidentally blowing up my health leads blog a a few weeks ago, I put it back together using a backup file and did not lose anything. I actually made it better than before. However I fouled something up with the permalinks (post-slugs for those of you reading Mazes Blog) so that it looked like I posted 79 brand new posts to my blog in one day and also all of the old backlinks to individual posts no longer worked.
Needless to say, the search engines did not like this and it must have tripped their algorithms because my blog went from being in the top ten for all of my keywords back into the 500+ areas. So that must be what it is like to get sandboxed. The nice thing is that they are steadily moving back up through the search engine results pages and getting more backlinks than ever. Just really weird how it happened.
Anyways, it will be a good time to practice some new link building strategies to see how big of an impact they have on this. The other strange thing is that now individual posts are popping up in lower competition spots where they have never been before and I am getting more traffic than ever. So not all bad.
So long story short, if something happens to your blog and you lose or move data, make sure your pemalinks are the same when you finish.
Thanks for stopping by.
